History of KCD

Kingdom Comfort Dogs was founded by Sandy Nogle, who began her journey in therapy dog work in 2005 with her first golden retriever at Methodist Hospital's Pet-A-Pet Program. After observing the positive impact of canine-to-human interactions, she initiated a program at the Ruth Lilly Medical Library in Indianapolis, which quickly expanded across the campus and even into IU Health. Additionally, it has been a privilege for Mabel and Sandy to serve on the Indiana Crisis Response Team, as well as in churches, nursing homes, memory care units, and various other venues.

As a long-time resident of Hendricks County, Sandy aimed to bring the benefits of golden retrievers closer to home. In 2025, she launched KCD with her golden retriever, Mabel. Mabel has thrived in her therapy dog role, while Bruce has achieved success in obedience competitions, securing both Beginner Novice and Companion Dog titles. He will soon join Mabel, enhancing the Kingdom Dogs' work in Hendricks County.

Sandy lives in Hendricks County, with her family and three golden retrievers. The entire family participates in training the dogs!
